The Missouri Botanical Garden (MBG) is offering Fellowships in Systematic Botany and Bio geography in USA. The fellowship is awarded to professionals Latin America, Madagascar, Vietnam, and Tanzania in USA. Applicants must undergraduate in the field of botany/plant sciences from universities, governmental or non-governmental institutions, and organizations. The fellowship covers round-trip air fare to St. Louis, lodging, stipend for food, local transportation, and other incidental expenses, funding for equipment. The fellowship is provided to study in systematic botany and bio geography. The mode of applying International fellowship is electronically or via post. 

About Scholarship: The Shirley A. Graham Fellowships are awarded to scientists from Latin America, Madagascar, Vietnam, and Tanzania who work in the field of botany/plant sciences. The purpose of the Fellowships is to support scientists by providing funding that will allow them to conduct research at the Missouri Botanical Garden. During their stay in St. Louis, the Fellows will have access to the Missouri Botanical Garden’s herbarium and library and to the TROPICOS database.

Eligibility: -The Shirley A. Graham Fellowships are open to professionals in the field of botany/plant sciences from universities, governmental or non-governmental institutions, and organizations in Mexico, Central America, South America, Madagascar, Vietnam, and Tanzania.

-To qualify, applicants must have received at least an undergraduate degree.

-The fields of research are limited to plant systematic, bio geography, ecology, and conservation.

-During their stay, the Fellows will also participate in other interdisciplinary activities that will enrich their experience and strengthen their professional development.

-We suggest that, as a courtesy, prospective applicants establish contact in advance of applying with any curator at MBG who works in the applicant’s taxonomic specialty or geographic area of interest. 

Scholarship Open for: The students of Mexico, Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama), South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela,) Madagascar, Vietnam, and Tanzania and resident in those countries can apply

Duration: Two months 

Value: The Fellowship will cover the costs of round-trip air travel to St. Louis and lodging in MBG’s visitor apartments, and will provide a stipend for food, local transportation, and other incidental expenses in St. Louis.In special instances, and when justified in relation to the Fellow’s research project, a small amount of funding (up to $500.00) may be provided to buy equipment, travel to meetings, and support fieldwork.
